Beauty doesn't always have to be expensive. Try these simple remedies with a few essentials and ingredients from your kitchen!


Sugar and Lemon Body Scrub

Lemon works as a natural disinfectant and the scrub will open up and cleanse clogged pores

1 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of sea salt
2 tbsp coconut oil 2 tbsp lemon juice

Mix all of the ingredients together into a paste. Apply to damp skin scrubbing in circular motions. Rinse with warm water and apply a favourite moisturiser

Foot soak

This soak will help to soften hard skin on the feet with the acids from the milk and the salts will help to relieve puffiness in the feet and legs

4 cups of warmed whole milk
2 tbsp of Epsom Salts
2 drops of essential oil (as desired)
1 bowl of warm water

Mix all of the ingredients together. Soak feet for 20 minutes, follow with the lemon scrub if desired

Hair mask

This is great for particularly dry hair, especially as the holiday season approaches and lots of people are spending more time in chlorinated pools

Beat 2-3 eggs 3 tbsp olive oil

Essential oil (optional)

Mix all of the ingredients together.

Apply to hair from root to tip as a mask. Wrap hair in a towel for 30 minutes. Rinse. Repeat 1X per month

Reduce staining on teeth
Crush 1 strawberry
mix 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
Apply to the teeth with a tooth brush and leave for 5 minutes. Brush teeth with usual toothpaste to remove. Repeat 1X per week

Face mask

This mask will help to moisturise, hydrate and soothe the skin. The honey can help to reduce inflammation in any blemishes.
2 tbsp plain yoghurt
2 tbsp honey
Mix all of the ingredients together. Apply to a clean, slightly damp face. Leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse well with warm water.
