Join us for a special Walking Week and experience the beauty of the local commons, National Trust Countryside and wildlife whilst discovering the fascinating local history of this beautiful corner of England.
In 1883 Professor John Tyndall, an eminent Physicist and renowned Alpine climber declared the air in Hindhead as pure as the Alps and built the first house in the area. Lord Alfred Tennyson loved Grayshott and lived on the site of Grayshott Hall for a while, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle brought Sherlock Holmes back to life whilst living in Hindhead.
Guided by John Owen Smith, our local publisher, historian and playwright, Jo - as he likes to be called - enjoys walking and offers an itinerary that will explore Waggoner's Wells, the Devil's Punch Bowl, Devil's Jumps, and the beautiful areas around Frensham Ponds and Haslemere. During the walk he will share with fellow walkers the local history of the area.
Itineraries are tailor-made for groups of four persons or more.
